Information
Vingerklip Lodge nestles in a valley, near the rock formation from which it derives it’s name. The 35m high pillar of sedimentary rock, the Vingerklip, (Finger Rock) is one of the most impressive rock formations in Namibia. It stands proudly above a valley, known as the Ugab terraces, mid-way between the Etosha National Park and Swakopmund in the heart of Damaraland. This is an excellent base to explore the many attractions of Damaraland, a vast beautiful wilderness in north-west Namibia.
Vingerklip is the perfect base to explore the nearby unique Twyfelfontein Bushman rock carvings, the Petrified Forest and day trips to the world-renowned Etosha National Park. They also offer nature drives and nature walks to the Ugab terraces, which vary according to your level of fitness. Day trips visiting a traditional Himba village, unspoilt by Western influence is also possible (not included in price).
Vingerklip Lodge is located in a malaria free area and ideal for couples, honeymooners and families. Easily included into a self-drive holiday exploring the rest of Namibia.

Vingerklip walk and Vingerklip extension
These two are a long and a short hike to the famous Vingerklip (Rock finger). The shorter trail takes you directly from the Lodge to the Vingerklip.
This walk can be done any time of the day if you would like to do it by yourself and takes about an hour to complete.
The extension of this walk takes you around the North terrace and then to the Vingerklip, this takes about 2 hours to complete.
Joint Terrace hike
This is the longest trail and is for people who want a longer walk as it combines two of our trails, which takes you around the South Terrace, then about halfway along the trail there is a path that joins the extension of the Vingerklip walk, going around the North Terrace and then to the Vingerklip taking you back to the Lodge.
This hike takes about 3 and a half hours to complete.
