Set on the banks of the Zambezi River, the luxury tented Victoria Falls River Lodge is a pioneer in many ways. As the first privately owned lodge situated in the Zambezi National Park, it is the ideal place from which to explore Victoria Falls as it blends the African Safari experience with one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World – the spray of which can be seen in the distance! Rooms
Starbed Treehouse – 2 Rooms
In addition to the wealth of luxury amenities offered in the Island Treehouses, the 100 square meter double-storey Starbed Treehouses also boast a spacious sitting area, en-suite bathroom with twin vanities and twin rain-showers and a private rooftop sitting area, with its signature Starbed. Absolutely perfect for Honeymooners – or anyone wishing to reconnect with Nature and/or self.
Guests aged 16 years and older may be accommodated on The Island.
Island Treehouse – 4 Rooms
Set among the trees on the banks of the secluded Kandahar Island, and accessible by boat only, each of the 4 exquisite 95 square meter Island Treehouses accommodates a maximum of two guests (16 years and older) and features a host of luxury conveniences, elegantly appointed sitting area, open-plan en-suite bathroom and private deck with plunge pool.
Luxury Family Tent – 5 Rooms
In addition to the host of amenities available in the Luxury Tent, the 119 square meter Luxury Family Tents at Victoria Falls River Lodge offer guests travelling as a family an adjoining tented room.
Comprising of either one single (¾ sized) bed and one bunk bed, or twin ¾ sized beds, where up to three sharing children younger than 17 years old can sleep comfortably; the adjoining children’s alcove allows parents a bit more privacy whilst still keeping their children in close proximity.
The expansive en-suite bathrooms are open plan and shared. A curtain may be drawn between the bathroom and main living area thereby offering more privacy as and when required.
Luxury Tent – 8 Rooms
Accommodating a maximum of two adults, these luxurious 110 square meter thatched tents are fully air-conditioned. Constructed of canvas, glass and wood – each extends out onto a private deck with its own plunge pool and boasts uninterrupted panoramas of the Zambezi River and natural bush.
Boasting a larger than king size bed, comfortable sitting area, open plan bathroom with freestanding bathtub and both indoor and outdoor showers. Twin bedded sleeping configurations are also possible.
Facilities
Popular as an alternative dining area, the Bar’s sociable open-plan layout and convivial atmosphere has witnessed many an animated recollection of the day’s events, shared around the colossal yellow-wood table and custom built bar counter.
Meals at Victoria Falls River Lodge are inspired by the unique flavours of Southern Africa. Enjoy scrumptious breakfasts, lazy lunches, sublime sundowners, moonlit dinners and after-dinner drinks – set against the spectacular, ever changing Zimbabwean skies, overlooking the mighty Zambezi River.
Toa Spa
Constructed of glass, canvas, and wood, the thatched Toa Spa is set upon a raised deck and boasts spectacular vistas of the river. Utilizing the world-renowned, all-natural Africology range, our spa sees to it that the body is treated in biological harmony whilst enjoying an authentically African experience.

Guided Bush Walks
Experience the wonder of the African bush on foot and, when accompanied by an expert Guide, enjoy the thrilling opportunity to an up close and personal introduction to some of the Zambezi National Park’s resident wildlife.

Bird Watching
Victoria Falls River Lodge and the Zambezi National Park are a bird watcher’s paradise.
In a comparatively small area around Victoria Falls, birding enthusiasts will be able to view a great diversity of birds within rain forest, riverine, gorge and savannah habitats.
Local species include Rock Pratincole, Schalow’s Turaco, African Finfoot, Half Collared Kingfisher, Thick Billed Weaver, African Skimmer, Pels Fishing Owl, Collared Palm Thrush and Western Banded Snake Eagle (to name but a few).
Guests at Victoria Falls River Lodge seldom have to travel too far from their private decks however as the lush foliage around the lodge offers ample opportunity to enjoy many of the spectacular array of bird life that Zimbabwe has to offer.

Morning and Afternoon Game Drives
Join your Guide and head out in a game-viewer to explore the 150,000 acres that make up the Zambezi National Park.
Whether the opting to be the first to catch the ‘bush telegraphs’ early broadcast of the previous night’s events – or preferring to take a leisurely break, from an afternoon of game spotting, to enjoy the phenomenal sunset with sun-downers – a Victoria Falls River Lodge’s safari experience promises to be memorable.

Fishing
The Upper Zambezi is home to a wide variety of fish species and Victoria Falls River Lodge offers half-day guided fishing trips leaving directly from the Lodge. Tiger fishing is a highlight and a unique experience on this iconic river.
Fishing from the jetty is also an option.

Game Drive (incl. snacks and soft beverages)
Children aged 0-3 years are not permitted on game drives
• Junior Discoverers Drive (incl. snacks and soft beverages)
o Aimed at children aged 4-7 years accompanied by at least 1 parent – subject to vehicle capacity
o Outside of standard Game Drive times – timing is seasonal and in consultation with Management
o Families wishing to take children aged 4 – 7 years on game drive during standard early morning / late afternoon game drive times (i.e. not Junior Discoverers Drive) will require a sole use game viewer – per details above.
‘Standard’ game drives for children aged 8 years and older are included in the rate
Management reserves the right to remove any unruly/disruptive children from the vehicle and return them to Camp before resuming the game drive.
Boat Cruise (incl. snacks and soft beverages)
Children aged 0-3 years are not permitted on river cruises
Children aged 4 years and older are permitted on the river cruises

“LITTLE LIVINGSTONE’S CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES”
• Junior Discoverer’s Drive (mentioned above)
o Embrace the outdoors like a true African Explorer
o Join your Guide in his trusty 4×4 and bravely head into the ‘great unknown’ – learning all about the fascinating fauna and flora of its wild surrounds
o Aimed at children aged 4-7 years accompanied by at least 1 parent – subject to vehicle capacity
o Outside of standard Game Drive times – timing is seasonal and in consultation with Management
• Young Bush Wackers
o Take a walk on the “wild side” and discover innumerable natural wonders right at your doorstep!
o Conducted by qualified Guide within camp surrounds and river banks immediately in front of the Lodge.
o Geared for children ages 4-11 years (although older siblings and parents are welcome too!)
o Timing is seasonal and in consultation with Management
• Various books & games – for indoor entertainment
