Nokanyana offers some of the best game viewing in the world, with exceptional game drive opportunities in the area. Extending from the Okavango River, the Khwai River forms part of the northern border of the Moremi Game Reserve. Nokanyana overlooks the spot where the Khwai and Mababe Rivers join, creating a beautiful environment in which to relax and watch the wildlife pass by.
Rooms
Ten luxurious tents are positioned on the banks of the Khwai River where an abundance of wildlife can be found. Rooms have been built to ensure that guests have a panoramic view of the bush around them. All have inside and outside showers, so you don’t have to miss a thing! Days can be spent exploring the area, or simply relaxing and waiting for the wildlife to come by.
Luxury Family Room – 3 Rooms
The family rooms comprise of two bedrooms and one bathroom. The main bedroom has 2x three quarter beds that convert to a king and the second bedroom is adjoining the main room and has 2x single beds, which can be made into a triple upon request. The family rooms have a bush facing view.
Luxury Room – 7 Rooms
The luxury rooms are light and airy and have 2x three quarter beds (convert to king on request) and have bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, twin sinks and WC. The luxury rooms have a river facing view.
Facilities
Nokanyana’s shared guest spaces include a large structure with thatched roof that comprises a lounge, bar and dining area. There are outdoor dining and seating areas, a pool and boma.

Elephant Havens Experience
Elephant Havens is a non-profit organization working on the ground in Botswana to protect and preserve the African elephant. The orphanage rescues and hand-rears orphaned and abandoned baby elephants, with the goal of eventually releasing them back into the wild alongside other elephants. The organization over and above works with communities to reduce conflict between villagers and elephants. Through education Elephant Havens hopes to instill an understanding of the importance of conservation and habitat protection in future generations.
A visit to Elephant Havens offers a chance to not only support the organization, but up close interaction with orphaned elephants, guided by informed and knowledgeable handlers, and a donation to the organization.
Helicopter Flight and Elephant Havens Experience

A visit to Elephant Havens with Helicopter Horizons includes return helicopter transfers, interaction with orphaned elephants, guided by informed and knowledgeable handlers, and a donation to the organization.
Full Day Game Drive
If you want to travel further afield and spend the whole dat out in the bush, we can arrange a full day game drive. Explore further into the Moremi Game Reserve, Savute or Khwai. Each trip offers the possibility of an abundance of wildlife viewings, getting you up-close to the wondrous nature Botswana offers. Lunch will be set and drinks provided so you can leave early in the morning and return just before dark.
Bush Walk
This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with African nature. Your guide will point out tracks and signs of animals, insects, birds, trees and many other fascinating aspects of this unique environment. Experiencing the bush on a walk offers a new perspective, and the possibility of an seeing game whilst on foot can be exhilarating.
Game Drive
Explore the NG41 concession that Nokanyana and offers the possibility of incredible wildlife sightings. Keep an eye out for a variety of species; from antelope such as red lechwe, water and reed buck, to elephants, giraffe and buffalo and zebra, through to predators such as lion, leopard, hyena and wild dog! Head north from the end of the Khwai River and you’ll reach the Mababe depression – another incredibly rewarding area to explore.
Included in the rate: game drives, bush walks, a full day game drive into one of the surrounding wilderness areas*.
* Gate fees into the Chobe National Park, Moremi Game Reserve, Khwai and/or Savute areas are for the account of the
guest. Helicopter flights can be organized at an additional fee. Scenic flights over the Delta can be combined with a visit to local communities and/or Elephant Havens or a 3-hour mokoro trail.
CHILD POLICY
Nokanyana welcomes families with children from the age of 6. Private vehicles must be booked for families with children under the age of 12. Note: There are no fences around Nokanyana.
