Information
The concession in which Mapula is situated lies north of the renowned Vumbura and Duba Plains concessions in the Okavango Delta. The wonderfully rich habitat of savannah country, seasonal floodplains and permanent waterways supports varied and diverse wildlife, including everything from sitatunga antelope, buffalo, big cats, wild dogs and phenomenal birdlife.
Mapula Lodge is open all year round with excellent game viewing. Water levels are highest in April to October for exploring on mokoros and boats. At other times of year, water activities may be restricted.

Rooms
Mapula has 9 canvas and thatch cottages, widely spaced and hidden under shady trees. There are 6 twin, 2 double and 1 family (1 king-sized bed and 2 singles). Bathrooms are En-suite, with flush loos, indoor and outdoor showers, all with private verandas.
Mapula Lodge Family Suite – 1 Room
The family suite consists of 2 adjoining rooms to accommodate families with children. The cottage has 1 king sized bed and 2 singles. Bathrooms are en-suite, with indoor and outdoor showers.
Mapula Lodge Twin Room – 6 Rooms
Twin rooms in a thatch and canvas cottage, accommodating a maximum of 2 people. Bathrooms are en-suite, with indoor and outdoor showers.
Mapula Lodge Double Room – 2 Rooms
Double room in a thatch and canvas cottage consisting of a queen size bed, accommodating a maximum of 2 adults. En-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers.
Facilities
The enormous main area includes several comfy seating area, a small library, dining area and a generous swimming pool. In front of the mess tent is the ‘’chill pit’’, a sunken deck area from which to look out over the lagoon or up at the night sky.

Helicopter Flights
Fly over the vast landscape by helicopter to give a much broader perspective of the Delta. (This incurs an additional cost.)
Hot Air Ballooning
Take to the skies on an evocative hot air balloon flight (at an additional cost; only available if combined with a helicopter transfer; 01 April – 30 September).
Mokoro and Boat Safari
Whilst water levels are at their highest in April to October, boating activities are an integral part of a stay at Mapula. Exploring by boat, cruising through lilies and reeds, offers a new perspective to the area.
Game Drives
Game drive through the vast concession to see the diverse wildlife of the area including wild dogs, sitatunga antelope, big cats and extensive birdlife. Their beautiful habitat changes with the season from seasonal floodplains, waterways and grassy savannah.
