Information
Set in the shade of enormous trees, Little Mombo Camp is perfectly positioned at the heart of the Okavango Delta and offers some of the best game viewing in Botswana. The little sister of legendary Mombo Camp and situated on the same game-packed island, Little Mombo – with only three luxurious tented suites in camp – offers a far more intimate safari experience and is ideal for honeymooners and romantics or groups of friends and family.
Explore your spectacular surroundings on morning and afternoon game drives accompanied by professional and highly knowledgeable guides. Keep your eyes open for big game such as lion, elephant, buffalo and an even keener eye out for Mombo’s rarer species such as rhino, wild dog and cheetah. After an exciting day of game viewing, you can relax and cool off in the swimming pool and enjoy sun-downers and snacks at the bar or around the traditional campfire.

Facilities
As its name implies, Little Mombo is an intimate camp of just four suites, each with its own plunge pool, while the main area comprises a dining room, bar and lounge. Little Mombo shares a Safari Boutique, spa, gym and lap pool with Mombo. Its design expresses unashamed (but appropriate and sustainable) luxury under canvas.
Activities
The Mombo Concession is known as the “place of plenty”, highlighted by the massive concentrations of plains game and predators that can be seen. These include all the big cats, of which lion sightings are frequent. You can also expect to see leopard and cheetah, spotted hyaena, large herds of buffalo, elephant, white rhino, giraffe, blue wildebeest, Burchell’s zebra and much more. Birdlife is prolific around Mombo with African jacana, pygmy-geese, goliath heron and migrant waders in summer being particularly common.
The superb wildlife in and around Little Mombo warrants either spending time viewing wildlife from a vehicle or from the deck at camp.
Game Drives
Game drives via open 4×4 Land Rovers each accommodate a maximum of six or seven guests, allowing each guest a ‘window’ seat. Please note that as we are in Moremi Game Reserve, night drives are not possible at Little Mombo.
Hide
There is a hide 20 minutes from camp from which you can view and photograph animals and birds.
4Cs Centre
The 4Cs Centre is an interactive experience where you can learn about Wilderness Safaris’ sustainable operations by committing to the four dimensions of Commerce, Conservation, Community and Culture.
Rhino Conservation Presentations
Presentations on the return of the rhino to Botswana are held regularly by one of our available rhino conservation experts. These talks address the current plight of the rhino and how Wilderness Safaris is helping to safeguard these mammals.
