Experience a life-changing safari at our seasonal camp located on the southern banks of the Linyanti River in northern Botswana. The true art of safari is waking up with the crisp dawn air to the sound of birds rejoicing. Enjoying a warm cup of coffee, anticipating what the day has to offer. It’s heading out into the wild, open plains on foot in search of new ground and thrilling interactions. In the fast-paced, man-made world we live in, there is a pull towards authentic and honest travel and experiences. We’re going back to our original ‘Bush Camps’ roots and introducing our newest expedition-style camp to Botswana, with Linyanti Expeditions.
Rooms
Linyanti Wilderness Reserve is a private concession boasting splendid scenery of untouched grasslands, riverine forest and meandering lagoons. The sumptuous style belies the simplicity of the camp. Organic layers with a comfortable lived-in feel are imbued with elegant touches of copper and cut-glass add a dash of old-world charm. Underscored by our ethos of eco-sensitivity, this Linyanti safari lodge touches the earth lightly. With only 6 tents, the camp has an intimate atmosphere, ensuring a personalized service for each guest. The main area has two canvas-covered hubs; a dining area with an exposed kitchen and an open lounge.
As with most of the camps, the campfire is at the centre, drawing guests to enjoy the authentic experience of the African bush outside. The tents are firmly rooted on the ground, giving that extra level of connection to nature. Each room has en-suite bathrooms with chemical eco-friendly toilets and al fresco bucket showers. The wow factor in the rooms is the ‘star suite’. Each tent has a gazebo extension, where beds can be moved at night to give the experience of sleeping beneath a blanket of glimmering stars, immersing yourself in the wonders of the wilderness while still staying in the security of a mesh-enclosed area.

Bird Watching
Linyanti boasts some of Botswana’s best birding. Delight in spotting the Arnot’s chat, the Goliath heron or the majestic Long-crested eagle. Or simply sit back and enjoy their beautiful songs.
Mokoro Safaris
Traditionally, the Mokoro was the only form of transport through the waterways. Sail through the rivers and tributaries with our River Guides in a dugout canoe, savouring those moments of peace, and encounter an incredible variety of wildlife along the way.
Unlike the traditional Mokoros which are made from indigenous trees, to conserve the environment we model our Mokoros out of fiberglass. Mokoro Safaris are available when water levels permit.
Walking Safaris
Awaken your senses and discover all that the bush has to offer when taking part in a walking safaris. These are a big focus at Linyanti Expeditions. Guided walking safaris are led by our qualified and passionate walking guides who share their knowledge and love of the bush.
For a full day walking safari, a private walking guide will need to be pre-booked with us.
Since your safety is our first priority, walking safaris are usually conducted when the bush is not too thick and our guides are armed at all times.
Game Drives
Morning, afternoon and night game drives are offered in open 4×4 vehicles. Linyanti is best known for it’s large populations of elephant and buffalo that congregate in vast numbers especially during the dry season.
Lead by one of our experienced guides, you’ll see magnificent wildlife indigenous to the area. Your guide will show you the hidden spots best for game viewing and give you an insider’s knowledge. With years of experience our African Bush Camps guides are known for being some of the best in the business.
Our private concessions allow for game drives after the sun has set. Experience the bush when elusive nocturnal wildlife awakens to hunt, forage and live their lives under the cover of darkness.
