Information
Named for Scandinavian royalty, Kings Pool overlooks the handsome oxbow-shaped Kings Pool Lagoon in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve bordering Chobe National Park. This plush camp is located on the private Linyanti Game Reserve – one of the most pristine and least-visited areas in all of Botswana where you have exclusive access to three million hectares of untrammeled wilderness that includes the incredible Savute Channel.
The unsurpassed accommodation overlooks the Lagoon and the Linyanti River where game thrives and predators such as lions, African wild dogs and hyenas are spotted regularly. With two-thirds of the channel falling within the reserve and Namibia’s Caprivi Strip just across the river, this bountiful area offers discerning travellers a slice of Africa at her best.
Rooms
The camp’s luxurious tents (including one family unit) each boast a large bedroom area and lounge leading out onto a veranda with a private plunge pool and thatched sala from which to soak up the gorgeous views and possibly even spot elephant crossing the channel.
The spacious en-suite bathrooms have double showers and hand-basins, as well as an outdoor shower for those who wish to shower ‘in’ nature!
Suite – 1 room
1 x suite consisting of two separate rooms (sleeping four in total) each with own en-suite facilities, sharing a private plunge pool and outdoor sunken lounge. Bookable by families or ideal for parties of four adults travelling together or a couple preferring more spare and luxury – while one bedroom is slightly smaller and without and outdoor shower, it is a standard guest tent and not only for children.
Standard Tent(s) – 7 rooms
7 x twin-bedded luxury canvas tents each with two three quarter size beds
Facilities
The sumptuous main area comprises a lounge, library, dining and a convivial bar area stylishly set on expansive raised decks close to the water’s edge. There is also a pool and an open-air ‘kgotla’ for evening dining under the stars.
Activities
King’s Pool – Massage Treatments
Massages are available for you to enjoy in the privacy of your tent.
King’s Pool – Birding
Birding is outstanding at Kings Pool Camp, with the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve an internationally recognised Important Bird Area (IBA), particularly for birds of prey like Dickinson’s kestrel and waterbirds. In summer southern carmine bee-eaters nest near camp.
