Information
Island Safari Lodge is set on a 300 acre private island reserve, and is just 10 km away from Maun Airport. It is situated on the banks of the Thamalakane River under a canopy of beautifully lush and green Okavango trees. The lodge overlooks a floodplain of fields and water that are frequented by an abundance of birdlife and the occasional Hippo.

Heritage Chalet
The accommodation is comfortable and set in the lodge gardens. The lodge has 12 Heritage Chalets all with en suite showers, DSTV and air conditioning. Island Safari Lodge offers comfortable accommodation nestled in a lush garden. Well spaced out, each room has a lovely view across the tree-lined garden towards the river.
The twelve thatched chalets stand alone, shaded by the foliage of the overhanging trees. Guest amenities are provided.

Camp Site
The spacious campsite is nestled under a riverine canopy, providing plenty of shade for campers. A large, fenced swimming pool is available letting you cool off during the heat of the day.
The campground is subdivided into 10 demarcated campsites, each with access to power and a light. The two main ablution blocks are complimented by a shower block to provide facilities for 100 campers.
Campers can stroll to the lodge along a promenade running along the riverbank to the restaurant and bar where wi-fi is available.
Facilities
The lodge offers a tranquil bush setting that is complimented by the river view, a pool and the iconic tranquil call of the African Fish Eagle. Island Safari Lodge has a main bar and restaurant area with seating indoors or out in the gardens. You are able to choose from a la carte menu for lunches and dinners accompanied by our wine list. It is an ideal place to relax alongside flowing waters, or beside one of the swimming pools, using the free WI-FI services and ordering refreshments from the restaurant. For those active bush loving visitors who are interested in adventure, there are many recreational excursions and opportunities available.
Activities
Sunset Boat Cruise
Enjoy a 1.5 Hour Sunset Boat Cruise on the Thamalakane River from the lodge. Experience this majestic area from the water as you enjoy sunset drinks and experience the tranquil surroundings.
Mokoro Excursion
We depart early morning (around 8:00) for a one hour transfer to the mokoro boat station. After meeting your mokoro poler, you depart on a couple of hours mokoro trail through the clear waters of the Okavango Delta. Your poler guide will then conduct a walk on an island formation before returning to the mokoros for a packed picnic lunch. After lunch, your guide will return you to the boat station and you will be transferred back to Island Safari Lodge.
Moremi Day Trip
This day trip and excursion into the world famous Moremi Game Reserve starts at Island Safari Lodge. This renowned reserve is home to the Big Five and a multitude of other plains species. This rich and diverse habitat is not only scenic but known for Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Zebra, Wildebeest, Buffalo, Red Lechwe, Impala, Giraffe, Hyena, Cheetah and the endangered African Wild Dog.
