Experience the beauty and tranquility of Hoodia Desert Lodge, surrounded by majestic mountains on the banks of the Tsauchab River. Only a 20 minute drive will bring you to the Sesriem Gate, entrance of the world famous red sand-dunes of Sossusvlei.
The lodge opened in 2008 to accommodate guests from all over the world on an individual and small scale. Therefore only 11 luxury chalets with great distance between each other were planned to assure privacy in this breath taking environment.
The lodge is family-owned and managed by Thomas & Henreza Becker, both enthusiastic regarding professional hospitality with a personal human approach. Skilled and enthusiastic chefs deliver in co-operation with Henreza delicious creations of international and local cuisine.
NOTE: Hoodia Desert Lodge does not accept children under the age of 12 years. Children 12 years and older are welcome.

Accommodation with a relaxed atmosphere in the dunes of the Namib Desert in Sossusvlei, Namibia. Currently Hoodia Desert Lodge have 11 Luxury thatched, partly tented chalets with en-suite Bathrooms.

The restaurant at Hoodia Desert Lodge offers exquisite international and traditional cuisine, from a set menu, which is complemented with South African wines from the lodge’s very own underground cellar.
Guests will be enticed to relax on the deck outside of the bar, next to the sparkling pool, and to enjoy the splendid views that surround the lodge.

Hoodia Desert Lodge is surrounded by magnificent landscapes with a breath-taking view heading west over the red sand dunes. That fact allows us to experience fantastic sun sets nearly every day of the year.
Hoodia Desert Lodge offers guests with pleasure a sun set drive taking them out to a special place on one of our hills to give them the opportunity to witness this breath-taking spectacle.
Sossusvlei Excursion with exclusive “Out of Africa” Dune Picnic Lunch
Living and working in this beautiful environment we experienced that the information which the traveller received before departing from his home, about the Sossusvlei Area, are mostly poor and limited.
Therefore Hoodia Desert Lodge decided to share their enthusiasm and knowledge about the magical Namib Desert with the guests, encouraging them to join them for an individual and unforgettable experience to discover the secrets of the desert.
Their aim is to deliver a unique “off beaten tracks” experience in nature and we focus on places which are rarely mentioned in guide books – especially today facing an overwhelming increase of tourist in SSV area.
