Here at Deception Valley Lodge visitors will spend time with the Naru-speaking Bushmen. Nomadic hunter-gatherers like the Naru Bushmen were the first people who inhabited Southern Africa. The Kalahari is one of the last regions where the Bushmen still survive. Although they had to adapt their traditional way of life to meet the challenges of modern life, they still have a great understanding of nature and the skills to survive in bush life.

There are eight spacious suites each with a separate lounge area, en-suite bathroom with Victorian bath and outdoor shower. Each room has a stunning viewing deck and convenient mini bar. There are two family suites to welcome families of different sizes. Deception Valley Lodge has created a lodge that prevails in comfort and style, allowing the Kalahari Desert to feel welcoming.

Activities
Bushman Walk
A visit to the lodge would be incomplete without experiencing the San Bushman walk with the Naru-tribe. The desert comes alive when sharing the eyes of those who have lived in the region for tens of thousands of years.
Safaris
Afternoon and night safaris in custom built game viewing vehicles afford visitors the chance to see a variety of different species which include the magnificent Kalahari lion, cheetah, leopard as well as giraffe and kudu. The elusive brown hyena has also been seen on occasion. Night safaris reveal reveal a fascinating world of nocturnal species. Deception Valley is also a bird lover’s paradise.
