A hauntingly beautiful eco-lodge, Mowani Mountain Camp is sculpted atop a rocky outcrop with soaring views across the Abu Haub valley. Situated a midst the vast expanses of the Damaraland savannah in the northwest of Namibia, it is located 520km from Windhoek Airport, approximately 1.5 hours by flight in a light aircraft.
Rooms
Superior View Rooms
12 twin bedded rooms (which can be converted to king beds with prior arrangement), with thatched roofs and en-suite facilities. All 4 Superior View rooms face west with panoramic distant views. The 3 View rooms have an eastern view across the valley and the 5 Standard rooms face to the east or northeast and have more limited views into a boulder-strewn valley.

The private lounge is equipped with a music centre and satellite television, complimented by private dining and bar facilities. Whether relaxing in the folds of your crisp white bed, enjoying a romantic dinner under the stars or throwing caution to the wind in the open-air bush bathroom, you’ll be delighted by this unique bush experience All rooms feature private verandas, allowing you to take in fantastic surroundings and vistas.
Activities
Climb into an open-air vehicle and experience the rush of Africa. Mowani’s local guides share with their guests an intimate knowledge and respect for the land that they have built up over a lifetime. With new insight into local traditions, you will come to fully appreciate the geology, botany and wildlife of the area. Local villagers are welcoming and keen to share their experiences.
Guided Nature Drive
Usually departs at 06h30 and will go out for +/- 4 – 6 hours to explore the surrounding area and search for animal life such as the desert-adapted elephants and desert black rhino. Drinks & snacks are included.
Self- Guided Nature Walks
guests are free to follow the short walking trails with information showing the names of different plants and trees on their own (or, depending on guide’s availability they are welcome to ask the guides to take them on a longer walk.)
Twyfelfontein, Burnt Mountain and Organ Pipes Excursion
this usually departs at 15h00 and will last for +/- 2 hours taking in the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site of Twyfelfontein to explore the rock engravings, along with seeing Burnt Mountain and the Organ Pipes.
