This delightful camp lies alongside the Maunachira River which flows through Xakanaxa Lagoon within the world renowned Moremi Game Reserve, Okuti is built amidst the wilderness of one of Botswana’s prime game viewing regions.
Refurbishment of Okuti took place at the beginning of 2014 and draws its influence from water which flows in front of the camp, with its abundant birdlife, fish and sandy river banks, it remains an oasis of serenity and peacefulness.
Game viewing within is good within the Xakanaxa region of the Moremi Game Reserve. Large concentrations of plains game encourage great predator sightings, including all the big cats, of which lion sightings are frequent. Guests can also expect to see leopard and spotted hyaena. Herds of buffalo, elephant, giraffe, blue wildebeest and Burchell’s zebra are also regularly seen.
Rooms
Okuti comprises of five very spacious twin and double-bedded “Masasas” (ancient tribal word for house of reeds), exceptionally unique in style and architecture all rooms overlook the permanent Maunachira channel.
Twin or Double Masasa – 5 rooms
Okuti’s spacious curved mosasas are located on raised teak decks with river views. Okuti comprises of five twin-bedded mosasa ( ancient tribal word for house of reeds), each with en-suite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor shower, hot and cold running water and flush toilet. The honeymoon unit features a double bed, bathtub, indoor and outdoor shower.
Family Masasa – 2 rooms
Okuti’s spacious curved mosasas are located on raised teak decks with river views. Each family Masasa has two bedrooms which share spacious bathroom facilities, indoor and outdoor shower, hot and cold running water and flush toilet – ideal for families in this child-friendly camp.
