Camp Kipwe – where the rocks share their secrets… Huddled in the rocks, with sweeping views across the Aba Huab valley, Camp Kipwe is full of surprises, starting when guests first arrive. It appears as if rocks have tumbled down the hill to reveal this gem of a camp. Camp Kipwe is an intimate and remote bush lodge located in Namibia’s arid yet starkly beautiful Twyfelfontein region, home to many ancient Bushman etchings.
The setting is one of intimacy and space. An inviting lounge area, where birds fly in to enjoy the water seeping from the rocks, a refreshing swimming pool nestled in the rocks and a scattering of bungalows complete this eco friendly camp. The surrounding space and endless views of Damaraland cannot be contained. They beckon you to explore – enjoy an early morning game drive in search of elusive desert dwelling elephants, hike in the ancient surroundings of the Aba Huab River or travel back in time at Twyfelfontein, Namibia’s first World Heritage Site.
Free of charge for children under the age of 3 years A certain amount per child (3 – 12 years) to be paid in a kiddies tent or sharing with adults Children above 12 years cannot share with adults or stay in children’s tents and will be charged the full normal rate.

Activities
Camp Kipwe offers guided nature walks around the Twyfelfontein Conservancy, as well as trips to see the Bushman etchings, the mysterious Organ Pipes and Burnt Mountain. For a very special experience, an Elephant Nature Drive is a must-do; explore the terrain in search of these elusive desert-dwelling elephants who have adapted to the dry and sandy conditions of northern Namibia.
• Guided Nature Drive – Usually departs at 06h30 and will go out for +/- 4 – 6 hours to explore the surrounding area and search for the desert adapted animals, such as the desert-adapted elephants and desert black rhino. Drinks & snacks are included.
• Twyfelfontein, Burnt Mountain and Organ Pipes Excursion – this usually departs at 15h00 and will last for +/- 2 hours taking in the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site of Twyfelfontein to explore the rock engravings, along with seeing Burnt Mountain and the Organ Pipes.
• Self- Guided Nature Walks – Available at Mowani Mountain Camp (4km away). Guests are free to follow the short walking trails with information showing the names of different plants and trees on their own (or, depending on guide’s availability they are welcome to ask the guides to take them on a longer walk.
