West Nest Lodge is situated on the farm Klein Begin. The owners of the Lodge and farm are Awie and Monika van der Westhuizen. The name, WEST Nest Lodge, is derived from their surname.
It has been their lifelong dream to have their own small farm and also own a guesthouse or lodge. The first dream became a reality in 2004 when they were able to buy Klein Begin.
In 2009 it was time to start planning the second dream and in November 2010 West Nest Lodge opened its doors to the public.
