The Evolve Back Gham Dhao Lodge, formerly known as Haina Kalahari Lodge, is situated on the northern border of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in Botswana. Classically African in style with a relaxed informal ambience, the Lodge is your perfect gateway to the Kalahari.
Located in the heart of the Kalahari, Evolve Back, Gham Dhao Lodge has its own private airstrip, making it easily accessible within Botswana. Licensed to a maximum of 5700KG, one can fly in their own plane with accredited tour operators or air charters. Permission to land on the airstrip is required prior to arrival.
For those wishing to self – drive we strongly recommend that you make use of a 4×4 vehicle. The nearest village is Rakops, about 1 hour 45-minute drive to the east. The small town of Maun is is approximately 2 and a half hours drive further north.
Rooms
The Lodge boasts of three categories of unique tented accommodations, strategically secluded to ensure a feeling of privacy and intimacy at all times. The lodge can accommodate a maximum of twenty guests, thus ensuring exclusivity that defines contemporary luxury, allowing you to experience the Kalahari at your own pace.
Luxury Tent
The luxury tents are sheltered by a uniquely structured slatted canopy inspired by the traditional dwellings of the San people. Our five Luxury Tents are spacious and aesthetically furnished with a comfortable sleeping area and
en-suite facilities including indoor and outdoor showers, gas tea/coffee making facilities and more. Best suited for couples.

Superior Tent
The Superior Tents are built beneath a thatched canopy, which provides shade and keeps the tents cool in the Kalahari. All units are furnished in subtle earth tones and dark woods in a contemporary African theme. A total of three tents, they come with large decks and full bathrooms.

Family Tent
Eminently suited for families, our Family Tent comprises of two Luxury Tents situated on an inter-leading deck. Only one in number, our family tent provides exclusivity, privacy, and space for the family.

Facilities
The main lodge consists of a lounge, dining room and bar area housed beneath a pitched thatch and timber structure. A swimming pool, sundeck, well-appointed bar and an expansive Boma eating area are the other facilities on offer.

Game Drives
Early morning, afternoon and night game drives are on offer. Each drive is conducted by professional and experienced guides in open-sided 4×4 vehicles. Guests can choose from a shared or private drive.
Sightings
The area is well-known for sightings of the Black maned Kalahari Lion, Leopard, Cheetah and the elusive Brown Hyena. Regular sightings include antelope species such as Gemsbok, Blue Wildebeest and Eland.
Walk with the San
Journey on foot into the bush with our resident San People who will passionately share an authentic and traditional experience. Learn about their ancient culture and how they once survived in harsh and arid conditions.
Bird-watching
While large mammals are always exciting to see, it is often the diverse and incredible bird-life that fascinates visitors. The area offers excellent bird-watching opportunities with over 250 bird species positively identified.
