Experience the Kalahari, one of the biggest deserts in the world, while sleeping on top of a red dune in one of our beautiful luxury tents. Endless views of the desert in a private setting will give you a unique experience of the vastness of Namibia.
Situated on the edge of a private nature reserve in the Kalahari Desert is Teufelskrallen Tented Lodge. The lodge is close to the village of Kalkrand and about 190km’s south of Windhoek, the Namibian capital.
Easily accessible via a tarmac road. From Windhoek, drive 190 km on the B1 direction Mariental / Keetmannshop. In Kalkrand turn left on C21 going 100 m direction Hoachanas.

Tent Houses
The three tent houses are large, comfortable and tastefully furnished. Thanks to their canvas enclosing, they are larger than the cabin tents and thus offer more comfort. They include their own bathroom with shower and toilet that can be reached via a wooden boardwalk. All tent houses feature a fridge and mini bar.

Facilities
Reception, swimming pool, restaurant as well as the lobby with free-of-charge internet access are located in an old farm house 3 km from the site, in the middle of an oasis-like garden with lots of shady spots.
‘Altes Farmhaus’
The Restaurant ‘Altes Farmhaus’ in the old farmhouse, is open to the public.
Situated directly at the crossing in Kalkrand it is a perfect stop for lunch or coffee and cake in the afternoon on the way between Windhoek and Mariental.
Enjoy breakfast and dinner in the old farm house. Relax at the pool in the tropical gardens or order a cool drink and find a shady spot underneath mighty trees.
Activities
Enjoy almost 10,000 acres of pure Kalahari desert during a Game Drive. Climb red dunes that elevate up to 30 meters in our open off-road car and watch the spectacular animals and vegetation.
Experience the Kalahari desert in its pristine natural state. The following animals roam the private game reserve on almost 10,000 acres: Giraffe, eland, black wildebeest, blue wildebeest, Hartmann’s mountain zebra, plains zebra, nyala, impala, springbok, blesbok, red hartebeest, oryx, kudu, steenbok, porcupine, pangolin, aardvark, warthog, ostrich, as well as many common small animals and waterfowl during rainy season.

All activities depart from Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge. The Lodge is located 10 km from the Restaurant „Alten Farmhaus“, journey time approx. 30 min.
