Set on the banks of the Zambezi River, the luxury tented Victoria Falls River Lodge is a pioneer in many ways. As the first privately owned lodge situated in the Zambezi National Park, it is the ideal place from which to explore Victoria Falls as it blends the African Safari experience with one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World - the spray of which can be seen in the distance! Our premium, partially-wooded tented rooms are decorated in muted earthy tones, perfectly married with bursts of fresh white and duck- egg blue. Each offers a larger-than-king-sized bed, climate control air-conditioning, open plan en-suite bathrooms with magnificent views from a freestanding bath, luxurious indoor and outdoor lounging facilities where the emphasis is always on comfort, surrounded by a myriad of world class amenities. Activities
Whether it be a helicopter flip over the iconic Victoria Falls, an adventure canoe ride down the mystical grey-green Zambezi, an historical bridge tour, shopping for crafts and curios at the various vibrant markets, bungee-jumping, or world class bird and game viewing, our dedicated and highly experienced team are on hand to tailor-make the experience of a lifetime Activities and Services Game Drive A choice of two of the following game activities (pp/pd) - incl. snacks and local beverages - is included in the accommodation rate: * Morning / Afternoon Game Drive * Sunrise / Sunset River Cruise Game Drives into the Zambezi National Park - Children aged 0-3 years are not permitted on game drives * Junior Discoverers Drive (incl. snacks and soft beverages) - Aimed at children aged 4-7 years accompanied by at least 1 parent - subject to vehicle capacity - Outside of standard Game Drive times – timing is seasonal and in consultation with Management - Families wishing to take children aged 4 - 7 years on game drive during standard early morning / late afternoon game drive times (i.e. not Junior Discoverers Drive) will require a sole use game viewer – per details below. - ‘Standard’ game drives for children aged 8 years and older are included in the rate - Management reserves the right to remove any unruly / disruptive children from the vehicle and return them to Camp before resuming the game drive. Families wishing to take children aged 4 - 7 years on a game drive will require a sole use game viewer – at the additional net cost per drive – however this is subject to the availability of vehicles (i.e. if sufficient vehicles are available on a particular drive, no charge shall be levied). River Cruise A choice of two of the following game activities (pp/pd) - incl. snacks and local beverages - is included in the accommodation rate: * Morning / Afternoon Game Drive * Sunrise / Sunset River Cruise River Cruises on the mighty Zambezi - Children aged 0-3 years are not permitted on river cruises - Children aged 4 years and older are permitted on the river cruises - Management reserves the right to remove any unruly / disruptive children from the vessel and return them to Camp before resuming the cruise. “Little Livingstone’s” Children’s Activities Adventure options - for the younger generation - included in the accommodation rate: Junior Discoverer’s Drive - Aimed at children aged 4-7 years accompanied by at least 1 parent - subject to vehicle capacity - Outside of standard Game Drive times – timing is seasonal and in consultation with Management Young Bush Wackers - Conducted by qualified Guide within camp surrounds and river banks immediately in from of the Lodge. - Geared for children ages 4-11 years (although older siblings and parents are welcome too!) - Timing is seasonal and in consultation with Management Fables by Firelight - End off a day of epic adventuring with traditional tales from Africa whilst toasting tasty treats over the bonfire - Weather permitting Various books & games - for indoor entertainment Additional On-Site Activities (optional) Rates exclude VAT and are: o quoted, invoiced and payable in US Dollars ($) o quoted per person o net and non-commissionable o applicable to in-house guests, over-nighting at Victoria Falls River Lodge only UPPER ZAMBEZI CANOE SAFARIS Options include: * Kandahar Island Picnic Lunch Canoe Safari Duration: Approx. 2-3 hours Details: Paddle to Kandahar Island for a Picnic Lunch. Departure times seasonal in consultation with Management. * Half Day Canoe Safari Duration: Approx. 4 hours on the Zambezi River. Details: This can be a morning or afternoon activity with lunch or dinner back at the lodge. Departure times seasonal in consultation with Management. * Full Day Canoe Safari Duration: Approx. 8 hours on the Zambezi River. Details: Packed picnic lunch and drinks on the river bank or on an island. Dinner is enjoyed back at the lodge. Departure times seasonal in consultation with Management. General Terms and Conditions: • Minimum age for children accompanied by parents on Canoe Safaris is 10 years of age. • All Canoe Safaris subject to a minimum of 2 Guests. • All Guests to sign Canoe Safari Indemnity Forms. • All Canoe Safaris to be conducted by Licensed Professional Canoe River Guides. • As with all Wild Life and Outdoor Adventure Activities there is an inherent element of risk involved in Canoeing Safaris. • Victoria Falls River Lodge will take every possible contingency to minimize risk, but as per the terms and conditions for Canoeing Safaris, as spelt out in the Indemnity Form, the Management and the Employees of Victoria Falls River Lodge are not accountable for any loss of property or injury sustained while canoeing on the Zambezi River. FISHING SAFARIS Options include: * Fishing (off the boat) * Fishing (off the jetty) General Terms and Conditions: • Minimum age for children accompanied by parents on Fishing Safaris is 4 years of age provided they have sole use of the boat. • All Fishing Safaris subject to a minimum of 1 Guest and a maximum of 4 guests. • All Guests to sign Fishing Safari Indemnity Forms. • All Fishing Safaris to be conducted by a Licensed Professional River Guide or Boat Captain. • As with all Wild Life and Outdoor Adventure Activities there is an inherent element of risk involved in Fishing Safaris on the Zambezi due to crocodiles, hippo and elephant. • Victoria Falls River Lodge will take every possible contingency to minimize risk, but as per the terms and conditions for Fishing Safaris, as spelt out in the Indemnity Form, the Management and the Employees of Victoria Falls River Lodge are not accountable for any loss of property or injury sustained while fishing on the Zambezi River. • Departure times are seasonal and in consultation with Management WALKING SAFARIS General Terms and Conditions: • Minimum age for children accompanied by parents on a Walking Safaris is 12 years of age. • All Walking Safaris subject to a minimum of 2 guests and a maximum of 6 guests. • All Walking Safaris into the Zambezi National Park are conducted by a Licensed Professional Guide • As with all Wild Life and Outdoor Adventure Activities there is an inherent element of risk involved in Walking Safaris • Victoria Falls River Lodge will take every possible contingency to minimize risk, but as per the terms and conditions for Walking Safaris, as spelt out in the Indemnity Form, the Management and the Employees of Victoria Falls River Lodge are not accountable for any loss of property or injury sustained while walking in the Zambezi National Park. Popular as an alternative dining area, the Bar’s sociable open-plan layout and convivial atmosphere has witnessed many an animated recollection of the day’s events, shared around the colossal yellow-wood table and custom built bar counter.
