Exclusive, luxurious and remote, Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp is set deep in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Although children are welcome at Xarana Okavango Delta Camp there are some restriction
* Children under 5 years old can not join game drives and mokoro excursions.
* Children aged between 6 and 11 can participate on these activities at the lodge manager's discretion.
* For safety reasont those under 16 years old are not able to join any walking activities.
* It is sometimes possible to arrange a private vehicle for short game drives with younger children.
Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp is a newer safari lodge, which opened in late 2008 on the site of a much older camp, Rann’s Camp (Rann's Concession). Xaranna is situated in an area that boasts a number of permanent river channels that flow throughout the year.
A combination of canvas and bleached timber, Xaranna comprises nine sleek en-suite safari tents each with a romantic sala, private plunge pool, indoor bath and open air shower. Main guest areas are positioned to make the most of the glorious views and provide the perfect spot for reading or relaxing. The elevated dining area features shady veranda's leading onto an open air boma where candlelit dinners are served under the stars.
Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp offers water based safari activities, mokoro and motorised boat excursions year round as long as water levels allow, as well as bush walks and game drives in specially adapted 4WD vehicles. Animal sightings in this 272,000 hectare private concession include elephant, hippo, rhino, lion and cheetah. Ostrich are unique to the area and birding is also excellent with a large number of migrant species arriving in the summer.
The guest areas are all carefully positioned to maximise the sweeping views out across the channels, with classic Delta tree-line silhouettes. The camp celebrates Botswana’s iconography, with humorous design touches used throughout. The intimate guest sitting area boasts a spacious reading area, perfect for afternoon relaxation.
The elevated dining area features shady verandas with mesmerizing views leading out onto an open-air boma where exotic candlelit dinners are served beneath the stars. A fully-stocked Safari Shop offers chic outdoor gear, African art and jewellery.
